We are proud to present our Winter Concert Series at our favourite venues in Cooroy and Noosaville conducted by our maestro Antoni Bonetti along with our trombone soloist Clayton Fiander.
Our principal masterpieces performed in this concert by Tchaikovsky and Beethoven were created from disappointments or personal disaster. As the saying goes, Every Cloud has a Silver Lining!
While Tchaikovsky was on holiday in Italy after the failure of his disastrous marriage, he composed the Capriccio Italien which has to be one of his many great and colourful works.
Beethoven had written his 3rd Symphony and was to dedicate it to Napoleon – the liberator. However after coming to the realisation that conquest was Napoleon’s real goal, he tore up his dedication! Luckily we can still enjoy this amazing masterpiece to this day.
Featuring music as well from our young ensembles, what better way to spend an afternoon than enjoying the thrill of live music!
